Fire occured on 11/22/08
Portsmouth, Virginia – Crews arrived at the scene of the blaze just before 10 a.m. They discovered a vacant residential structure showing heavy smoke and fire. Within minutes, six engines were on scene assisting in the effort to put out the fire.

STUART, Va. — The Patrick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident in which a fire station in Ararat was rammed with a vehicle.
The Willis Gap substation of the Ararat Volunteer Fire Department, on The Hollow Road, was vandalized sometime between Saturday and Sunday, according to Sheriff Dan Smith.

STATter 911 has learned the entire Marine Division of the Alexandria City Fire Department has been shut down due to safety concerns. The order came yesterday from Chief Adam Thiel. Department spokesman Captain Luis Santana says they expect the division to be operational again in early January, 2009.
