STUART, Va. — The Patrick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident in which a fire station in Ararat was rammed with a vehicle.
The Willis Gap substation of the Ararat Volunteer Fire Department, on The Hollow Road, was vandalized sometime between Saturday and Sunday, according to Sheriff Dan Smith.
Smith said that it appeared someone hit a garage door at the front of the building with the vehicle, causing about $1,300 in damage.
The sheriff added Tuesday that the damage resulted from someone driving recklessly, as opposed to a break-in incident.
