Roanoke Firefighters were called out on Saturday for a water flow alarm at the North Roanoke Gold’s Gym. Apparently a basketball knocked off a sprinkler head at in the basketball gym and flowed water all over the court. Firefighters cleaned up the water and the gym was closed momentarily.

In an e-mail late Monday afternoon, Vinton police said they’ve interviewed several people about a house fire on Hardy Road Saturday night but have not named any suspects.
Investigators declared it a definite arson.
The home belonged to an around 90-year-old mother.
Her son, Shawn Combow, and his wife lived there.

JAMES CITY CO – An electrical short sparked fire at an Old Navy store.
Crews from the James City County and Williamsburg fire departments were called to the Main Street store just before 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
The sprinkler system had activated and extinguished the flames before fire got out of control.
