The Westmoreland VFD was founded in 1948. We are located in historic Westmoreland County, VA. We protect the citizens of Montross and the surrounding areas. There are over 150 miles of roads, and approximately 5,000 people in our first due. Included in our first due is Stratford Hall the birthplace of Robert E. Lee. The WVFD also has a sub-station located in Mt. Holly, VA (Engine Co. 5). We consist of 100% volunteers that dedicate countless hours to help the citizens of Westmoreland County. Engine Co. 2 houses 7 pieces of apparatus and our sub-station Co. 5 houses 3 pieces.
ENGINE CO 2
Engine 21- 1993 Custom Pierce Lance Pumper with a 1250gpm pump, a 1000gal tank and a 6 man cab. E-21 is set up to run first due on structure fires and mutual aid structure fires in a hydrant district.
Rescue Engine 22- 2006 Custom Pierce Enforcer Heavy Duty Rescue Engine with a 1250gpm pump, a 750gal tank, and a 6 man cab. It is equipped with 2 sets of hurst tools, 1 full set of air bags, res-q-jacks, cribbing, long timbers, EMS supplies. Rescue Engine 22 is set up to run first due MVC’s, first due commercial structure fires, auto fires, and is licensed for first response.
Tanker 2 – 2003 Custom Pierce Dash Tanker with a 1000gpm pump, a 2000gal tank, and a 6 man cab. Tanker 2 has a 2100gal dump tank on a hydraulic lift, and a 250gpm portable pump. Tanker 2 is set up to run second due on structure fires and first due on mutual aid structure fires.
Brush 2 – 1996 Southern Coach brush truck with a 500gpm pump, a 1000gal tank, and a 2 man cab. Brush 2 is epuipped with a front mount turret, 2 booster reels, full compliment of structure fire equipment as well as wildfire equipment. Brush 2 is set up to run first due on woods/field fires and is also capable of running first due structure fires if needed.
Response 2 – 1993 Cheverolet Suburban. Purchased from White Oak VFD. Response 2 is set up to run first response.
Car 2 – 2000 Impala Police Interceptor. Car 2 is used to transport members to and from training. Car 2 is also licensed for EMS first response as a reserve.
Utility 2 – 1988 Cheverolet Silverado 2500.
Engine Co. 5
Engine 51 – 1988 Pierce Lance with a 1500gpm pump, 750gal tank, with a 5 man cab.
E-51 is set up to run first due structure fires and is also licensed for first response.
Support 5 – 1984 E-One Pumper with a 750gpm pump, 1000gal tank, and a 2 man cab. Support 5 is set up to run as a tanker.
Utility 5 – 2004 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor licensed for first response.

Thank you for a nice profile. I had the opportunity to visit both of the Westmoreland stations last year for apparatus photographs and was very impressed with the department.
One additional piece of information on Engine 51 (1988 Pierce) because it came from a nearby station from me – it was originally delivered to the Leesburg VFD in Loudoun County and sold to Westmoreland in December of 2007.
