STATter 911: Two-alarm service station fire in Falls Church

A fire late Friday morning heavily damaged a service station at the corner of Route 50 and Annandale Road in the Falls Church, Virginia area. Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department spokesman Lt. Raul Castillo says the fire started in a service bay of the Shell station just before 11:30 AM.

The first units found heavy fire coming from two bays. A second-alarm was sounded. The firefighters using a tower ladder and other exterior streams were able to quickly knock the bulk of the fire. They then dealt with trying to get to the fire under the roof that was a bit more stubborn.
