A plume of smoke and flames – it’s what kept multiple crews busy on Sunday to contain brush fires in our area.
Past Roanoke just over the Bedford County line, fire trucks lined Overlook Road, so Derek Jones took out his camera.
“Yeah, I picked up my camcorder as soon I saw the fire trucks coming,” he said.
Burrell Baker got a closer look out his back window.
“A lot of excitement going on. It gave us a funny feeling. We thought it was our house for a minute you know. Then we realized it was on the mountain,” Baker said.
