A search warrant filed in Bedford County shows the Hardy fire chief is being investigated for the disappearance of thousands of dollars and the improper use of department gas and debit cards. Chief Jeffrey Shiflett’s home was raided Thursday afternoon. Shiflett was charged with felony forgery. He is out on bond, and his attorney advisement date will be April 16.
