WILLIAMSBURG – Two annual fundraisers for local firefighters recently collided, prompting a response today from the city’s volunteer fire department and another from the local chapter of a national firefighter’s union.

Both the Local 2498 of the International Association of Fire Fighters known as the “Williamsburg/York County Professional Fire Fighters” and the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department found themselves canvassing the city for donations recently. And both organizations are seeking to distinguish themselves from the other.
