Two alarm fire townhouse on 15503 Avonmore Drive in Herndon, VA. First alarm was called at 10:59 am, then second alarm including canteen trucks were called at 11:02 as fire was showing by the gable side of end unit town house. A couple with their young son have been displaced. It took about 5 minutes for the fire department to put most of the fire out.

Accidental Townhouse Fire
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a townhouse fire Friday, April 10, 2009, at approximately 10:55 a.m. in the Frying Pan area of Fairfax County. The townhouse is located at 13503 Avonmore Drive.
Firefighters saw smoke and fire coming from the front and second floor of the three-story townhouse upon arrival. A second alarm was struck, bringing approximately 60 firefighters to the scene. Firefighters extinguished the fire in approximately 20 minutes. The fire displaced three adults and two children. There were no injuries. Red Cross is assisting the occupants.
Damage is estimated at $75,000.
According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. A pole lamp falling onto a nearby sofa started the fire.

Looks like a 2 and 1, instead of a 2 alarmer. Nothing like urge overkill. One of these days we will come back over to the calm and sane side of the fence.
