ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA) – Richard Spencer, a 911 dispatcher at the Arlington County Public Safety Emergency Communications Center, answers every call the same way: “Arlington County 911. Where is your emergency?”
Sometimes it’s nothing.
“We’ll get the animal calls in the middle of the night, the UFO calls,” said Spencer. “Bank of America just called asking me for a mortgage update.”
But other times, it’s the real deal.
“On September 11th, 2001, I took the first cell phone call from the Pentagon,” said Spencer.
