Engine 417 from Centreville, Virginia in Fairfax County definitely stands out in a crowd with its lime green and white color. It is a 2008 Pierce Dash complete with a 1500 gallon per minute pump, 750 gallons of water, and a 40 gallon foam tank. Note the ladder rack on the driver’s side and the additional emergency warning light to the right of the pump panel. Organized in 1950, Centreville began with red and white fire and rescue apparatus. During the late 1970’s, new apparatus arrived at Centreville painted in the new lime and green color and some older apparatus were repainted from red and white to lime green and white. Centreville’s newer apparatus are a deeper lime green and white color than most lime green apparatus, and I found Engine 417’s color scheme very eye catching.
