On Monday May 11, 2009 Firefighters in Fairfax County responded to a house fire in Reston this morning at 7:47 Am at 1850 Golf View Ct. the fire started in the kitchen as an elderly woman was in the upstairs level, when she notice the smoke she called 911.
When the fire department came to the house they had to extract the 82 year old resident due to smoke inhalation. The fire department had to bring a Medevac helicopter to the adjacent golf course. The helicopter crew requested to have a flag remove in order to land on the green. At 8:23 Am the helicopter with the patient took off to the burn unit at Washington Hospital Center. She is in stable condition. Her caretakers, neighbors and friends were helping in some of the immediate clean and gather some of her personal items. Ladder 425 and engine 425 stayed until the property was secured.
