RICHMOND, VA (NBC12) – Some tense moments this morning in downtown Richmond.
Dozens of firefighters swarmed City Hall after a small explosion sparked a two-alarm blaze in the basement.
Officials say contractors were installing a new power system for the city’s IT functions.
The backup battery system for the computer failed, causing an electrical problem.
Firefighters had the blaze under control quickly and no one was hurt but the city’s computer system remains an issue right now.
