Phil Paquette, Goochland’s Fire Marshal, has helped keep Goochland citizens safe for a number of years. Now, as the newly- elected president of the Virginia Fire Prevention Association (VFPA), Paquette’s dedication to public safety will benefit all of Virginia and beyond.
“It is a huge, huge thing for me,” Paquette said. “This is a career goal that I’d set a few years ago.”
Paquette was elected on May 19 after serving as first vice-president of the VFPA for the past year. Paquette is also a former president of the Virginia Department of the International Association of Arson Investigation.
According to Paquette, the VFPA is one of the leading organizations for fire marshal and fire investigator training, and holds numerous conferences and classes throughout the year.
