It was a typical Friday afternoon for Lena Bergland. She was getting ready for work, checking her email on her computer. Then there was a noise.
“I heard a loud crashing sound like lightning, but I thought it hit the trees,” said Bergland. So she ignored the fire alarm.
Around the same time, Arthur McClure was coming home from work. Smoke in the distance caught his eye.
“I saw this building over here smoking,” he said. He stopped at the main office of Sadler Pond Apartments and asked the manager to call 911.
