On June 10,2009 at 11:05 am Lawrenceville Vol. fire dept Co. 7, Alberta Vol. fire dept. Co. 1 and Brunswick Rescue were paged out for a residential structure fire at the intersection of south hicks street and west fifth avenue. While in route to the station members could see smoke from 2 miles out. Lawrenceville Fire Chief 701 requested Dolphin vol fire dept as their third due fire company for additional resources, Co 4 responded with E-4. The first in engine was Lawrenceville E-7 upon arrival the crew found out they had a working structure fire in a two story residential house with heavy fire showing on the charlie and delta sides. 701 established command and had E-7 lay LDH into the scene for water supply as the connections were being made the crew started an aggressive interior attack. The next in apparatus was Lawrenceville’s tower-7 command had them to set the aerial up and its crew to ventilate the roof, Tower 7’s crew was assisted by personnel of Co1 who responded with Tanker 1 and medic 1. The fire attack crew could not reach the seat of the fire due to high heat and smoke conditions and the lay out of the structure command pulled all personnel out of the residence, after the all clear was sounded and all firefighters were accounted for a defensive attack was performed, 25 minutes into the incident the fire was marked under control. Units remained on scene until 1300 hrs to complete overhaul. Other departments that assisted were Emporia fire department who responded with their air support truck,and central rescue squad.
