George R. BRIDGERS “Rocky” Sr.
BRIDGERS, George R. Sr. “Rocky”, 69, of Richmond, entered into eternal rest on November 9, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Warren Bridgers and Alice Lee Rockefeller; his first wife, Nancy Bridgers; and stepson, Bryan Rice. He is survived by his wife, Linda Bridgers; his children, Jackie Broaddus (Pat), George R. Bridgers Jr. (Paula), Chip Bridgers (Christina); stepson, David Rice; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister, Alice Hatcher of Kinston, N.C.; and brothers, Buddy Bridgers of Mechanicsville and Eddie Bridgers of Moon, Va. He was a retired fire captain of 35 years for Henrico County. He was a member of the Masonic Babcock Lodge in Sandston. He was most devoted to his family, a devoted father, husband and good friend to all. Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009, 11 a.m. at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, Rte. 301 and Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, with visitation immediately following the service until 1:30 p.m. Interment private.

    A good man and fireman, He will be missed.

    He had a Brother, Eddie, who was a Lieutenant in Richmond Fire and two sons, George Jr. and Chip, are Richmond Firefighters.

    He late wife, Nancy, brother was on Richmond years back as a Firefighter.
