Tuesday 0443 hours. Nasswadox station 16, Exmore station 13, Eastville station17, Cheriton station 14, and Painter station12 were alerted for the Commercial structure fire at the Captains Deck Restaurant in Nasswadox. EMS 12 (Kim Casion) was first on scene at 0443 hours and reported heavy fire showing from the roof. Chief 17 (David Eder) assumed command when he arrived. Chief 17 requested Tower 14 and Tower 15 and stations 10 (Melfa) and 11 (Wachapreague). He also requested Virgina State Police Investigator Glenn Neal. The fire was marked under control around 0635 hours. Crews remained on scene for several hours doing overhaul.
