On Friday, November 13, 2009, Roanoke Fire-EMS responded to a
structure fire at 1201 Wasena Terrace. The call was received in the
E-911 Center at approximately 4:55 a.m.
When crews arrived they found a two story home that was split up into
5 apartments. Crews found a fire in one of the apartments and
exinguished the fire. They checked for extension throughout the
house.
There were 14 people evacuated from the building. There were no
injuries to civilians or Fire-EMS personnel.
The cause of the fire and damage estimates are still under
investigation at this time. The American Red Cross is assisting
those displaced. There were no smoke detectors in the apartment
where the fire occurred.
