The Sterling Volunteer Fire Company in Loudoun County, Virginia recently took delivery of a new 2009 KME Predator. Sterling operates from two stations (Station 11 and 18). The new KME will run as Engine 618 from Sterling’s Cascade station.
Engine 618 is equipped with a 1500 gallon per minute pump and carries 750 gallons of water. It also has a 12″ raised roof. The new KME replaces a 1995 Spartan/Saulsbury that was sold earlier in the year to the Bakerton, West Virginia VFD.
In addition to the new KME, Sterling operates a variety of other apparatus which include two Smeal quints, two Pierce engines, a Seagrave tower ladder, and a variety of support units.
