‘Time Is Our Enemy’: Fairfax County Rescuer Talks To 9NEWS NOW | WUSA9.com | Washington, DC |

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (WUSA) — Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department Captain Joe Knerr tells 9NEWS NOW the live rescues by Virginia Task Force 1 and the other urban search and rescue teams are becoming fewer as the hours slip by saying, “Time is our enemy”.

The task force leader took a few moments on Monday to talk by phone with 9NEWS NOW.

The last rescue for Knerr's team was Sunday night around 9:00 PM when the Fairfax County group assisted rescuers from Martinique in removing a 21-year-old woman from a collapsed apartment building. She was taken to a hospital set up by a group of Israeli medical personnel.
