Some firefighters in Fairfax County didn't have to go very far to respond to a roof collapse overnight — it was in their own firehouse.
County fire department spokesman Dan Schmidt says about 18 firefighters were asleep in their bunks at the Bailey's Crossroads station around 3 a.m. Monday when they were awakened by a crash.
