HAMPTON — Jose Rosales watched helplessly as his neighbor fought desperately to get back into his burning mobile home Tuesday night — to save his three children trapped inside.
“He was crying and screaming,” Rosales said Wednesday morning.
But the fire was too strong and the temperature too hot for the father to save three of his children.
Rosales and other residents at the tight-knit Buckroe Mobile Home park were still wrestling with the loss Wednesday of three children — Victor Tristan, 3; Marilyn Tristan, 2; and 9-month-old Jose Tristan Jr. Their parents and 8-year-old sister escaped the fire.
