A fire Tuesday at American of Martinsville was an accident, according to Henry County’s public safety director.

Dale Wagoner said his office along with the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department, Martinsville Fire Department and Stone Ambulance responded to the 11:34 a.m. call at the Redd Level plant off Rives Road.

The blaze started in the finishing department and was contained there, Wagoner said.
