MATHEWS — A former treasurer of the Mathews Volunteer Fire Department was indicted Monday by a grand jury on two more counts of felony embezzlement.Paul J. Reardon, 75, is now facing four felony counts in connection to the embezzlement of more than $100,000 from the rural fire department in both 2008 and 2009. Fire department officials told police investigators that in 2009, there were $110,000 in cash withdrawals and checks written to Reardon, according to documents filed in Mathews County Circuit Court.
