Tour Bus Fire in Hollywood Cemetery

On June 15 at 4:20 p.m., Richmond Department of Emergency Communications was flooded with calls about a tour bus on fire in Hollywood Cemetery in the 400 block of S. Cherry Street. Quint 6 was dispatched to the bus fire. Within minutes, Quint 6 arrived on scene to find a tour bus heavily involved in fire. Quint 6 command immediately requested a tanker. E-12, Foam/Tanker 8 and BC-2 were added to the assignment. The driver indicated that he was driving the bus and it just shutoff while a passenger in the rear smell and saw smoke. All passengers were able to escape the bus without injury.

All units returned to service shortly before 7 p.m. The fire was a result of a mechanical problem.
