Vehicle Fire at Gum Springs BP/Dairy Queen.
On June 5th, 2010 at approx. 1239 hours the Holly Grove Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a working vehicle fire at the BP station on Cross County Road. The vehicle was sitting at the gas pumps and threatening the structure as well as the pumps. Chief 4-2 was first to arrive on scene reporting one vehicle fully involved as well as pumps 9 and 10.There was also smoke and heat damage to the awning above the pumps. Chief 4-2 then assisted evacuating the structure threatened by the fire. Car 4, Engine 4, and Tower 4 then arrived on scene and crews performed an aggressive attack on the fire knocking it down before it could spread any further. Locust Creek VFD and Goochland Engine 61 also assisted on scene.
