Rocky Mount Fire Department Chief Posey Dillon was laid to rest on Friday, July 30th. His funeral was attended by firefighters from all over Virginia and as far away as New Jersey and Charleston, South Carolina.
The mood was somber as Honor Guard units from departments across Virginia ensured our departed Brother was laid to rest respectfully.

Never have I seen such an outpouring of respect and love for these two men who gave their lives protecting lives in their community. This trajedy has touched lives all across our great nation. It is my prayer that the families who lost the great men and friends may find some peace in their hearts. And I would like to thank you guys for tastefully covering this event. As you stated in an earlier post, there is a time for everything, right now we have two brothers we have lay to rest right now.
Thank you so much for the great coverage you done on these two great men’s death. They will be remembered for many years to come and because of your coverage others will remember this long after us older people have passed on. Thanks again for posting this on this web site.
