On Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 0029 a.m., Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a reported structure fire located at 33 Clover Hill Drive. First arriving units reported a two-story, single-family residential structure with the second floor heavily involved with fire. Firefighters mounted an interior attack, but were forced to evacuate the structure due to deteriorating conditions. The fire was brought under control within 1 hour and 20 minutes. The fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire; damage estimates are not available.
The home was not occupied at the time of the incident and there were no civilian injuries. Five firefighters were transported to area hospitals, three with minor burns and two with heat exhaustion. All were treated and released.
