Stafford, VA – On Friday, September 3, 2010, at 8:42 p.m., Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to residential fire located at 32 Foundation Drive, in the White Oak area of Stafford. The call was dispatched at 8:43 p.m., and the first responding unit arrived at 8:49 p.m. to find a large two-story home heavily involved in fire. The three occupants of the home – one male and two females – had evacuated the house by the time the first unit had arrived. The male went back into the house to locate the pets, but was unable to find all of them. As firefighters were
entering the home with the initial attack line the male occupant exited the home again, suffering from first and second degree burns and smoke inhalation. The two females were not injured. All three occupants of the home were transported to Mary Washington Hospital. One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
