The family of the homeless man run over by a city trash truck on the beach in June filed today a $25 million civil lawsuit against the city, the truck driver and two unnamed city employees.

“We will evaluate it and respond appropriately,” City Attorney Mark Stiles said.

Trash truck driver Heather Boyd ran over Michael Knockett, 52, on June 28 while he was sitting in a chair on the beach near 25th Street.
