Two Emporia Volunteer firefighters escaped serious injury on Sunday evening after the pumper-tanker they were in left the roadway, while en route to a fire.
According to Emporia Fire Chief Chris Rawlings, the two were the only ones in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and rain and slick road conditions on the curve they were driving on played a factor in the accident.
