Rural fire station open to ambulance housed there. The Middlebrook Volunteer Fire Department has asked that an ambulance be placed at their station. 158 pigs saved from burning trailer. Clarksville firefighters extinguished a fire in five minutes Friday morning, saving the lives of 158 pigs trapped in a burning trailer. Eight pigs died. Read about it here.

Officials: Heat buildup causes fire at Blue Ridge Fiberboard. Heat buildup in fiberboard stacked outside Blue Ridge Fiberboard on Celotex Drive early Monday morning started a fire that caused moderate damage, the Danville Fire Marshal’s Office. Read it here.

Woman, baby rescued from burning home; Two others, including a firefighter injured. VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Four people including a baby and a 70-year-old woman are in the hospital after fire and smoke tore through a home in the Pembroke Manor neighborhood of Virginia Beach early Tuesday morning. The fire started just before two along Jeanne Street and Declaration Road. Read more here.
