3 city officers hurt saving woman from house fire

Three Richmond police officers were injured today rescuing an elderly woman from a burning house just northeast of Virginia Union University.

The woman, pulled from the second story of a house on fire in the 1000 block of Edgehill Road, was in serious but stable condition this morning at VCU Medical Center, where authorities said she was being treated for smoke inhalation.

She was helped out of her burning home by 4th Precinct Sgt. David Naoroz, Sgt. Jean-Guy LeGouffe and officer Jill Simons, who were the first to arrive at the house after the fire was reported at 12:31 a.m.

    Police Officers should not have been hurt to begin with! They are Police Officers for a reason. Wait 30 seconds and let the Firefighters with SCBA and turnout gear go in and find the victim and extinguish the fire… What a bunch of idiots!
