Van destroyed, home damaged in two fires

Two separate fires damaged a mobile home in Clover and destroyed a van in South Boston Wednesday, according to fire officials.

Firefighters from Clover Volunteer Fire Department were called at 10:03 a.m. Wednesday to a reported singlewide mobile home fire at 3155 Clover Road, Randolph.

When they arrived they found smoke and a small fire on the stove in the kitchen, a fire department spokesman said.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and removed smoke from the home that belongs to George and Geneva Powell, who were at home but not injured at the time of the fire.
