A two-story duplex in west Vinton was gutted by a blaze late Monday night, leaving three residents without a home and killing three pets.
Firefighters were called to the house on West Cleveland Avenue, near the Third Street intersection, at 10:45 p.m., the Roanoke County emergency dispatch office reported. When they arrived flames were shooting from the first and second floors, said fire department spokeswoman Jennifer Conley Sexton.
