Shawsville Rescue Squad truck Involved in Collision

The squad truck from Shawsville Rescue Squad was involved in a collision while responding to a reported auto accident. The squad struck a automobile at the intersection of Crozier Rd and Roanoke Rd ( US 11/460), the only traffic light controlled intersection in the response district. The collision caused major damage to both vehicles, with the squad ending on it’s side in the median. Injuries were reported to be minor to all involved. Elliston Fire responded w/ an engine, and Asst. Chief. Shawsville had two ambulances on the scene assisted by a unit from Christiansburg Rescue Squad. Roanoke County Co 9 responded w/ their heavy rescue, tanker and a medic unit due to early reports of an entrapment. Elliston’s squad responded to the original accident.
