Retired Roanoke Fire-EMS Department Battalion Chief Bobbie Slayton was laid to rest on Wednesday. His funeral was attended by hundreds of firefighters as well as friends and family.

He will be missed. Take the time to read some of the stories below for more information on the life of Bobbie Slayton.

I must say, as always, the Honor Guard did an outstanding job. Members from the Roanoke Fire-EMS Department, Roanoke County Fire-EMS Department, and Salem Fire-EMS Department all pitched in to give Chief Bobbie Slayton a proper funeral.
