Paramedic/Firefighter David Palmer was laid to rest yesterday. His funeral was attended by family, friends, and co-workers. The funeral procession was led by one of Roanoke’s Medic Units, and numerous other ambulances were among the vehicles in the procession. Carilion’s Lifeguard 10 did a flyover at the cemetery.
I imagine it was just as Dave would have wanted it.
Captain Chad Riddleberger and Deputy Chief Billy Altman both spoke on their long-time friendships with Dave and shared many stories that embraced who Dave was and the mark he left behind.
Dave was a huge asset to EMS in the Roanoke area. He was a preceptor, coworker, and friend to many. He will be remembered for his friendliness, his ability to share and stell stories, and his knowledge in the EMS field.
