During the month of October Portsmouth’s finest Fire and Rescue personnel will be hanging up their uniform shirts and choosing to wear PINK. They will be joining forces with Susan G. Komen Tidewater to spread awareness, education, and to give financial support. If you see them out in your community on weekends with their PINK T-shirts go up and introduce yourself and ask them about their mission. You will be given information that will help you be more educated about breast cancer. Remember, early detection is the key to survival and early detection happens after we have educated our communities about the importance of clinical breast exams.
