YORK COUNTY — As York Co. wrestles with its budget, officials worry about the impact cuts will have on public safety.
The latest budget proposal would eliminate 58 positions in the county; 12 would be in the fire department and 12 would be lost in the Sheriff’s office.
Don Dinse, president of the local Firefighters Association, says the department is already short staffed and further cuts will affect response times to fires and emergencies.
