Roanoke City firefighters (B-shift) were busy with a 3 alarm fire at General Truck Repair in Northwest Roanoke. The fire destroyed the building which is located at 1919 10th street Northwest. Over 60 firefighters were on scene battling the blaze.
Roanoke’s entire shift of firefighters were on the scene. Some firefighters were called in off-duty, and other departments helped fill in Roanoke City firehouses during the fire as well.
Roanoke City’s most recent recruit class just graduated on Friday. This would be the first fire for several of them.
