A Virginia Beach man was forced to jump from the 2nd floor of his condominium in the Sawgrass Condos early Monday morning after a fire broke out.

The fire damaged at least one unit at Sawgrass Condos located in the 1100 block of Ocean Pebbles Way around 1 a.m. Tim Riley with the Virginia Beach Fire Department said the fire was ruled accidental in nature.
Neighbors say they saw a man jump from a second level balcony to escape the flames. Riley said he was transported to a local hospital after suffering a broken arm.
