A fire Tuesday at American of Martinsville was an accident, according to Henry County’s public safety director.

A Martinsville man died during an accidental fire in his apartment early Saturday.
Curtis Flood, 57, of 1101 Mountain Road, Martinsville, was found dead on his bed in Apartment 2, according to a death notice.
Martinsville Fire Marshal Ted Anderson said rescue personnel were called to a smoke investigation there at 4 a.m. Saturday.
